"Overwhelmed, but Excited": What the Project Information Literacy Report Tells Us About First Year Students' Research Skills (and How We Can Help!) In-Person
In this workshop, we will use the Project Information Literacy Report titled: "Learning the Ropes: How Freshmen Conduct Course Research Once They Enter College" to explore what skills Muskingum's first-year students lack as they enter college.
This workshop will focus on:
- The conclusions from the PIL report on incoming freshmen;
- The differences between high school and college libraries;
- What students struggle with when they enter college - as reported by both PIL and fellow instructors;
- What our fall survey showed Muskingum's first year students struggle with;
- And...a preview of new and innovative ways you can partner with us to help your students!
