Author Talk - Alexis Wilson In-Person
Alexis Wilson brings her own life journey and life lessons when she speaks to people. Raised by same sex parents, abandoned by her mother, years of Broadway and ballet experiences, being bi-racial, and caretaker to both her father and his life partner before she lost them both to AIDS, lends an intense density and power to her diverse speaking topics.
Alexis’ book, Not so Black and White, is made up a multi-colored tapestry of her valiant journey towards a strong and clear passage, leaving the reader uplifted and wanting more. She passionately shares her personal story of a “show-biz” upbringing and her non-traditional family in the hope that it helps to positively alter people’s perceptions, encourage difference, and inspire love!
